Hot Mulligan have hit the road again, this time stopping at the historic Palace Theater in St. Paul. Despite the historically cold temperatures fans lined up to see a legendary cast of emo and punk bands.

The night started with Anxious, an emo band from Connecticut. They had an energy that was unforgettable, even if you didn't know they music before. While they we're only able to play 8 songs, fans who were there early will not forget them anytime soon.

Next came cult-classic band Arm's Length. Another short set, but still one that will stick with me forever. They came out hot, playing their smash hit Object Permeance early in the set, and ended their show with a few tracks off their new album There's A Whole World Out There.

For fans who didn't check the lineup, they were in for a surprise, veteran hardcore band Drug Church. There was a noticeable shift in energy, as fans went from scream-crying their hearts out with Arm's Length, to fighting in the mosh pits of Drug Church. Prior to starting their set, the singer came out and did one of the classiest thing's I have ever witnessed. He spoke to the people near the front of the crowd and told them if they didn't want to be a part of the chaos that was about to ensue, that security could lift them out of the pit, and then return them to their spot after the set. I saw several people do this, and they did in fact make it back to their front row spot.

Drug Church did fulfil their promise of chaos. Once the first song started the crowd was not still until the final note of their set. Now it is time for Hot Mulligan. Many consider this band to be the best live performers in their genre, and I would have to agree. They played nearly every song of their new album The Sound a Body Makes When It's Still as well as 9 other fan favorites. Overall, this entire night was incredible. 4 incredible bands, with a mix of fan favorite songs and new music. I think everyone in that room was able to leave a fan of some new music, and in my opinion that's the best thing about live music.
