Indie Rock Icons Modest Mouse light up St. Paul

After 30 years on the road, Modest Mouse is no stranger to packed out rooms and screaming fans, and last night in St. Paul was no exception. Modest Mouse took the stage at the historic Palace Theater, playing 21 songs from 10 different albums

Modest Mouse find themselves back for another tour in celebration of their 2026 album An Eraser And A Maze which came out at the start of June. The band has been touring on and off sense May 12th, and will be playing shows until the end of October, when they close their final leg of the tour in California.

Modest Mouse will play again in Milwaukee tonight, and, will be coming back to Madison on September 29th. Other midwest shows include Grand Rapids, Omaha, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.

Like I said earlier, Modest Mouse played 19 songs from across their entire discography, plus 2 Ugly Casanova songs with Tim Rutili, who has been opening with his band Califone this tour. Most of the set was comprised of slower, melancholy songs the band is known for, although splashes of high energy guitars and emphatic singing kept energy up throughout the night. Die hard fans could be heard screaming every word the entire night, even on the brand new music.
